The Best Hole Punchers

The Best Hole Punchers

DON’T LOOK PAST THE IMPORTANCE OF A GOOD HOLE PUNCHER!

This is one of the top questions I get asked by people designing their own printables. Below I have broken down the best hole puncher based on the type of binder you have. Enjoy the hole punch review and please provide feedback on your favorite paper punchers!

THREE RING BINDERS: LETTER SIZE, A5 & A4

There are lots of hole punchers, but one stands as being the best for all three ring binder sizes. I prefer using one adjustable hole puncher rather than buying a bunch of different hole punchers for every project.

The best heavy duty three hole punch I’ve used is the Swingline 74030.

You can easily punch through a large batch of pages. Also, you can easily adjust the hole punchers to accommodate different binder sizes! I have a letter size binder and an A5 sized binder that I can easily switch between. This hole punchers makes adjusting to any three ring binder a snap!

SIX RING BINDERS: A5, A6, A7 & HALF LETTER SIZE

Six ring binders are typically for smaller, pocket size binders and planners. The page range for these binders is usually A5, A6 or A7.

The Repesco hole puncher below is the best one I have found for punching through several A5 sized pages. This hole puncher is also adjustable for different types of binder settings.

Unlike the Swingline 74030 I don’t recommend punching through a ton of papers, but a small stack of less than 10 pages will work just fine. On the plus side, this is a portable hole puncher.

happy planner or arc plannerS

If you use an Arc Planner like me then, you want to be able to add custom pages into your arc binder for easy access. There are two hole punchers I recommend depending on the size of your arc planner:

The Staples Arc Desktop Paper Punch is ideal for 8.5 x 11 sized pages or BIG Happy Planner hole punching.

For Classic sized or Mini Happy Planner’s, I recommend the Create 365 brand hole puncher designed for Happy Planner.

So what’s the difference? For starters, the Staples Arc Desktop Paper Punch is ideal for letter sized arc binders which is what most people use. Besides the size, it can handle a stack of papers or card stock much better than the Create 365 hole puncher.

On the other hand, the Create 365 hole puncher is made to accommodate the Classic and Mini sized Happy Planner’s. If you used the Staples hole puncher for a Classic or Mini Happy Planner, the arc bindings will not line up correctly.

Important to note is that the Create 365 paper puncher is small and will not accommodate the Big Happy Planner or an 8.5 x 11 Arc Planner!

Best Single HOLE PUNCHER

Single hole punchers are ideal for craft projects. You can also use this type of puncher for any kind of binder setting which makes it great if you are looking for something flexible to your projects.

The best heavy duty single hole puncher I have found is the MROCO hole puncher.

This single hole puncher is easy to use because it is ergonomic and can punch through a small stack of pages or card stock. The downside to this hole puncher is that it is shallow, making punching holes in the middle of a page more difficult.
